Darlington Choral Society (DCS) will perform Handel’s ‘Messiah’ on Saturday 30th November 2019 at 7.15pm at the Dolphin Centre.
The 80-strong choir under the baton of Director Richard Bloodworth will be accompanied by the Mowbray Orchestra. Soloists will be Icelandic Bass-Baritone Andri Bjorn Robertsson (pictured), Tenor Austin Gunn, Mezzo Valerie Reid and Soprano Ruth Jenkins-Robertsson.
It is four years since the DCS last performed ‘Messiah’ and this is sure to be a popular event.
The choral society’s programme for 2020 will be Jenkins ‘The Armed Man’ and Orff’s ‘Carmina Burana’ in April, and Beethoven’s ‘Mass in C’ in November 2020.
