Santa at the Station

Staff at the Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum will welcome a very special visitor.
Father Christmas will be steaming into the museum as it plays hosts to its annual ‘Santa at the Station’ events giving visitors, young and old, the chance to meet Santa in his magical grotto.
Each child or family group is given an allocated time slot to meet Santa, talk to him and take photographs – without having to share your experience with others. If there’s something special you’d like Santa to mention, let staff know and he will do his best to include it in the conversation.
Santa also gives each child a special, age-specific gift.
‘Santa at the Station’ events will be held on Saturday and Sunday, 9 and 10 December, followed by a return visit on Saturday and Sunday, 16 and 17 December. All events run from 10am until 4pm.
As well as meeting Santa, visitors can enjoy a host of entertainment including mini train rides, arts and crafts as well as face painting. There will also be a range of tasty treats served in the museum café, where a full menu will be on offer.
Kelly McStravick, Events and Admin Officer at Head of Steam, said: “Our Santa at the Station events are always really popular and we go out of our way to make it as personal as we can so it’s extra special.
“The numbers of places are limited though and must be booked in advance, and we’d advise people get in touch soon so as not to miss out.”
