Arts Festival 2018: Comedy

Several comedy nights are planned this year to put a smile on your face. With well-known stars, local favourites, undiscovered comedians and a children’s workshop there is something for everyone in the 2018 line-up.

Starting the season on 21st May is an evening with Matt Reed and supporters at Bannatyne Hotel which will be one of three Hilarity Bites events this festival. Their other two shows take place on 24th May with Lee Kyle’s ‘Folly’, at the Old English Gentleman, and concludes with their regular monthly comedy show on the 2nd June at The Forum Music Centre.

Hilarity Bites’ founder Neil Jollie said: “Hilarity Bites are delighted to be involved with Darlington Arts Festival again, and this year our involvement is bigger than ever as we present three shows at different venues in Darlington. These shows will ensure that comedy is well represented in this year’s festival with some fantastic acts.”

Other comedy acts in Darlington Arts Festival 2018 include Edinburgh Fringe favourite, Barbara Nice, and the Belly Giggles workshop, which promises to be family-friendly fun. Also, the legendary Ruby Wax will make an appearance on the 3rd June with her show ‘Frazzled’ combining mental health advice with her off-beat observations and unerring comedic timing.
