Over the past few decades the traditions, philosophies and culture of the East have become more widely embraced by the Western world.
One form of Tibetan art, Thangka, is rarely seen and is very little known about in the west; however, young artist Adam Plumb is undertaking training in Thangka, with the assistance of a DfC Small Arts Grant award. This exhibition will share some of the original work, including paintings, Adam has made.
He hopes it will ‘bring a taste of Tibet to Darlington, revealing the skill and intricacy that goes into making a painting and the significance of the symbolism found within the art’.
