Festival: The art of the novel – a case study

Local author Michael Jarvie will be delivering a follow-up talk to the one he gave during last year’s Darlington Arts Festival on self-publication.

This time, he will be discussing how he came to research and write his thriller Black Art and will explore the following subjects:

  • Where do ideas come from?
  • Composing the outline
  • The ‘controlling idea’
  • Undertaking the research
