September 2020: a representative of the Darlington Branch of the Embroiderers’ Guild said it has been difficult to make plans for the group due to the frequent changes in the Covid situation.
A small working party visited the Elm Ridge Methodist Church hall, where meetings are usually held on the first Saturday of each month (except August), to prepare for a start with a physical meeting in October. With the ‘rule of 6’ and the recent extension to restrictions in the region it is clear that the meeting cannot go ahead. The committee is exploring other means of meeting present members online.
Sadly, it looks like the branch will not be able to welcome visitors when physical meetings restart because its committee anticipates that the government will restart community meetings with a 30 maximum limit.
